Morning Study at CFC -- 8:45-11:30am

Becoming More Like Jesus  |  led Carol Kettenhofen

Join us on Tuesday mornings for a study on “Becoming More Like Jesus’’ by Cynthia Heald. We look forward to loving and encouraging one another, studying God’s word, and building and strengthening our relationship with Him.

Galatians  |  led by Carol Kettenhofen

Our twelve week study will dive deep into the grounding principles that direct us to the one and only Jesus Christ. Paul reminds the churches in Galatia with passion and deep love that there is only one truth. We are justified by grace through faith in Jesus. He dismantles the heavy burden of legalism that distorted the message he presented. Righteousness comes from God not the law. We will find so many similarities with the culture of the first century. How do we protect ourselves from the dangers of deviating from the true Gospel? How do we accept the gift of “The Fruit of the Spirit?” There is independent study for each session. Class time consists of verse by verse teaching, group discussion, prayer, laughter and fun.

How Did We Get the Church of Today, the first 1600 years |  led by Carole Capen

The gospels leave us with a group of basically Jewish disciples and followers of Jesus who are energized by the resurrection and its implications. Unlikely enough, Peter, perhaps the least educated of them all, was told "feed my
sheep," which he proceeds to do. The book of Acts follows the disciples and then Paul as they make the first organizational and doctrinal decisions. This study will start there and follow historically and Biblically as organizational and doctrinal decisions were made or rejected to give us the church of today. Leader: Carole Capen

Sermon on the Mount by Jen Wilkin  |  led by Amanda Quinn & Kristen Turner

In His sweeping depiction of kingdom citizenship, Jesus utters some of the most familiar passages in all of Scripture. Most of us have only encountered the Sermon on the Mount in fragments, considering its subdivisions as complete teachings in their own right - a study on blessedness; a reflection on the Lord’s Prayer; a discussion of religious devotion, money, ambition, and relationships. What if we navigated these three chapters in Matthew as they were originally heard? What if we read them as one cohesive, well-ordered message, intended to challenge us
to think differently about what it means to be a follower of Jesus? This 9-session study will give you the opportunity to do just that. Come and learn from Jesus, just as His disciples did. Study format is five days of homework, small group discussion and a video teaching each week.

Evening Study at CFC -- 6:30-8:30pm

Twelve Women of the Bible  |  led by Julie Johns

Twelve Women of the Bible (on campus) Join five authors as they study the stories of twelve women of the Bible in this twelve-session, video-based Bible study. By looking at the triumphs and failures of Mary Magdalene, Rebekah, Hannah and nine other women, you and your Bible study group will discover new insights and be challenged, encouraged, and empowered to face trials in your own lives by drawing nearer to God.
