Tuesday Winter Bible Studies

Winter semester of Tuesday Bible Studies begins January 19, 2021.  The description for each study we are offering this is below, with two ZOOM options.  Online registration closes Jan 14.  Free Childcare while space is available and advanced registration is required for childcare.  If you have missed the online registration period, that's okay, you can still come on the first day and pay at the door.  All studies are $15 for the semester.  If you're joining us after our first day of study, please email Debbie Graves so she can get you registered for a study.

Study Descriptions

Colossians:  There is Nothing New Under the Sun

Leader: Carole Capen
Paul's letter to the Colossian new Christians is a concise study of who Jesus is and the believer's relationship to Him.  Paul wants them to know that Jesus, being God, is all they need, and their salvation is complete.  He emphasizes that they (and we) can and need to ignore cultural fads that would twist worship.  Amazingly, Satan who has little creativity tries the same tactics today.  Finally, like a good teacher, Paul adds practical advice for ways that we can all honor this amazing Lord.

Daniel

 Leader:  Bev Bushelman
A permissive society, a power-hungry people, a nation without God.  Daniel's situation in Babylon sounds a bit like our own.  In the midst of such forces, how can we remain loyal to biblical values?  How can we have a positive impact on those around us?  Daniel gives us very practical and personal help.

Rest, Remind, and Reflect

Leaders:  Deb Lee & Amanda Holland
God’s truth invites us to rest in what He has done, reminds us of the truth, and encourages us to live in the light of it.  Each week, we will worship together, meditate on the truth of the good news of Jesus Christ, and share in small groups.  This study also has a ZOOM option.

The Gospel-Centered Woman

Leader:  Robyn Pomonios
The Bible is clear about what God has planned for women and yet despite our best efforts, we sometimes fall short, fail miserably, or miss out entirely.  But there is hope and grace because Christ has made a way for us to embrace our legacy as daughters of God.  We will discover how the gospel equips us to bridge the gap between God’s good plan for us and the fallen reality in which we often find ourselves.  This study also has a ZOOM option.

Tuesday Evenings 6:30pm(off campus study)

COLOSSIANS (not the same as the daytime study, childcare is not offered)

Leaders:  Veralyn Adams
Colossians is a letter from Paul reminding us that Jesus is all we will ever need.  In this encouraging and challenging study, we will gain knowledge of the deity of Christ as well as glean rich instructions for living as Christ desires us to live.  And in Paul's letter to Philemon, we will see from his teaching how to rise above our hurt and show forgiveness, grace, and love.  This study meets off-campus at the home of Lisa Woods.
